Each of the eight areas on this page offer "first-serve" volunteer opportunities; places you can try out serving without making a long-term commitment up front. Take a look at the eight areas listed below to see a few of the opportunities available. When you see something you like and you’re ready to jump in use the sign-up box below.
Once you’ve indicated your interest someone will contact you with further information and instructions. After trying things out you can join the team on a more permanent basis or if you're not excited about it you can start over and try something else. The key is to find the opportunity that really gets you going and take your next step in that area.
Guest Services
Do you believe that first impressions can make a huge impact? That creating an accepting, inviting – and safe – environment is a must? Great! So do we.
Consider:
Greeters – smile and welcome people to the service, help people find their way
Hosts – smile and distribute bulletins, usher people to seating, receive offering
Café Corner – smile and set-up/tear-down refreshments area, prepare coffee, set out doughnuts, pastries etc.
Facilities
Does keeping things looking good – and running – give you a sense of joy and accomplishment?
Consider:
Set-up and Tear-down for Sunday service
Facility Care – pre and post-service cleaning, helping to create and maintain inviting environments
Facility Maintenance – put your skills to work on projects requiring labor, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry or just help cleaning the office
Technical
Do you have hidden – or obvious – talents in media production?
Consider:
Set-up and tear-down of Sunday service equipment
Equipment Operators and Assistants – run lighting, computer, video and sound systems for services
Peripherals & accessories - plug things in and hook stuff up
Technical Support – create PowerPoint text for services, assist in archiving digital data from services, conduct online research for media content, prepare and duplicate DVD content for weekend services and workshops
Community Impact
Want to get outside the wall of the church and serve? NECC has left the building. You can help identify community needs, plan, coordinate, and carry out service projects and social activities as a part of the overall 1010 Project.
Prayer & Care
Prayer is foundational to all of the ministry at NECC. You can join in by being a part of the team that prays for all of the weekly prayer needs. You can also help provide and coordinate meals, assistance, and support for the NECC family.
Children's Ministry
Do you enjoy working with kids? Do you want to make sure the kids have a fun and safe learning environment? This is the place for you. There is nothing more important than investing in the lives of the next generation.
Consider:
Nursery - care for the littlest ones while parents are in service
Ages 2-5 – assist with the teaching the Veggie Tales program
Ages 6-11- facilitate our dynamic KidMo program
Students – partner with Young Life on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
The Arts
Want to give your creative gifts back to God? Join us in creating a vibrant worship experience that uses the beauty and relevancy of arts to glorify God and connect with people in a meaningful way.
The Arts - Communication
If you love the thought of writing, proofing, adding value by creating graphics and web content then you are in the right place.
Consider:
Writing & Proofing – produce succinct, effective copy for articles, promotional pieces, Web pages, e-newsletters and other informational pieces. Check these for quality and accuracy
Graphic Design – create graphic elements for series promotional pieces, special events and Web projects
Web Support – create Flash animations, maintain multimedia Web content, ensure consistency and maintain interactive Web pages
The Arts - Creative
The vocalists, musicians, and artists who grace our stage during the Sunday Service strive to perform at professional levels, but they are volunteers just like you. Check out these and other artistic support areas that contribute.
Consider:
Vocalist – perform solos and sing backup for worship, and special events
Instrumentalists – perform a wide variety of musical styles during services and special events; bands typically include drums, bass guitar, electric guitar and keyboard – but just about any instrument played well could have a place on our stage.
Drama – perform in Sunday dramas, direct, actors, assist with costuming, props, and staging, write original scripts and adapt existing scripts.
Media – produce compelling video and custom media content.
Performance – develop choreography and various form of dance for services
Visual – use your gifts as a visual artist to create in and compliment the services
Photography and Videography – provide for Sunday service and special events
Administrative
It takes a lot behind the scene to make our church go. We are always in need of help around the office with things like answering the phone, data entry and database administration - keep data clean, secure and accessible, tech support - desktop and small device support, and mailings.
